VATS—chest tube

This is my VATS chest tube insertion site, above photo. Below is my pleurevac, the chest tube drainage collection system, which is connected to wall suction.  Photos by Ron, my nurse, and Dawn, my wife. Work by Dr. Gallion.  He tells me I was his difficult case yesterday.  Because of my 19 inch neck I was difficult to intubate.  He also said that he bottom 1/3 of my right lung was so fibrotic that a 20 minute procedure took two hours, with plenty of bleeding.  This is not the norm for VATS procedures.  My biopsy results should be in by the middle of next week.
